The Alliance brings together socio-environmental organizations committed to protecting and conserving Andean wetlands, as well as the territories of local, rural, and indigenous communities that depend on them in Latin America, especially in Argentina, Bolivia, and Chile.
Our approach
We recognize the value of these ecosystems as refuges for unique biodiversity, water reserves for the future, and climate regulators.
We promote respect for regional ways of life, culture, and economies, from a Human Rights perspective, including the right to a healthy environment, and those of nature.
We promote access to environmental justice in the face of corporate led energy transition, within a context of multidimensional crises such as the global economy, the climate crisis, forced migration, and food insecurity.
Our values and principles
Just socio-ecological transition

Access to justice
How we work
We develop pedagogical, legal, research, advocacy, communication, and mobilization strategies, collectively and in dialogue with communities and organizations.
Our actions are coordinated through working groups, meetings, and regular virtual workshops where we share progress, strategies, challenges, and lessons learned among organizations from different countries.
What don't we do?
We do not provide contact information for community members, organizations, environmental defenders, or residents of affected territories to third parties without their prior consent.
We do not facilitate corporate processes for social participation and certification of extractive projects that affect Andean salt flats and wetlands (for example, "Responsible Mining").
Gender perspective
We incorporate a gender perspective across all our activities, recognizing the differentiated impacts of the climate crisis on women, girls, sexual and gender minorities, and other vulnerable groups.
